........MAN BORN OF A WOMAN MUST DIE, BUT MAN BORN OF CHRIST WILL LIVE ON FOREVER........

Alvin W. Newell lives on forever..........

He was a man of strong character, there was a frightening realness to him. True to us he trusted, loyal to us he believed in, Pops was a husband, father, brother, friend.

Alvin W. Newell was the second child born to Joseph and Edith Newell of St. Catherine, Jamaica. He attended the Ludford Mount All-Age School . Fifty six years ago he met and subsequently married Violda Wallace. The union produced seven (7) sons:- Oliver, Sydney, Lester, Alvin II, Joseph, Charles, and Cyril and three (3) daughters:- Rowena, Patricia and Joan..

Our lives are richer today for having had Pops pass through them. In this, he will never truly be gone, for a small part of him lies within each of us. He smiles and laughs with us, and we are never alone.

His was not an effortless life, nothing he has was considered too priceless to be shared with his fellow man. Time and Time again he would give what seem to be his last meal to someone who seem to be in more need. His favorite sayings......" the more I give, the more I seem to receive".....

Alvin was a Farmer by profession and an active member of the All Island Cane-Farmers Association (Jamaica). He was also a vibrant member of the Ludford Mount Baptist Church before migrating, with his wife, to the United States in 1982 to a well earned retirement.

In addition to his wife and children Alvin is survived by three (3) brothers and four (4) sisters: five grandsons:- Seymour, Antone, Marcello, Nicholas and Alvin III: eleven grand-daughters :- Kara, Olivia, Faith, Nicole, Janielle, Bryoni, Sherie, Aneesha, Sameerah, Shenielle, and Shenece: great grandchildren:- Quori, Aryelle, Desiree, Nikkei and Malik : daughters-in-law :- Faye, Donna, Yvonne, Jennifer, Zoya, and Kassandra: sons-in-law :- Aubyn and Ivanhoe
